Achievements

The Cricket Academy of West Delhi was constituted in the year of 1998 and Kohli was an integral part of its preceding intake. He entered spotlight when he played for the national capital, Delhi in a match of Ranji Trophy against Karnataka on the day, when his father died. By selecting to bat and stay, he continued to score 90 runs. In the fourth season, he was the only player of the Royal Challengers to be given preference over the likes of Ross Taylor, Jacques Kallis, and Rahul Dravid, 

2011
This player was second greatest run maker in the tournament behind Chris Gayle.

2012
The 2012 Indian Premier League took place in the months of April and May and this player made a score of 364 runs from only 16 matches accompanied by two half centuries.

ODI
By following a century in the Emergency Players Tournament in the country of Australia in the year of 2008, this player was chosen in ODI squad for tour of India to Sri Lanka. This player made a debut in one day international against the country of Sri Lanka in the Idea Cup held in the year of 2008.

This player was given preference over Raina for 2011 World Cup and became the first Indian to have scored a remarkable century on the debut of World Cup.

Tests
When the country India made its tour to the West Indies in June and July 2011, they selected a mostly inexpert squad, resting Tendulkar and several others like Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir and missing out due to injuries. Kohli was only one of three uncapped players in the Test squad. India won the Test series 1–0 but Kohli continued his struggle on his debut in the format.
